- What’s the difference between the 6-month prepaid memberships, annnual memberships and the monthly memberships?
- We love our members and hope they find a second home at The Hivery! When you get a 6-month prepaid membership, you enjoy a 15% discount on our monthly pricing, and you enjoy a 20% discount on our monthly pricing with annual plans. Our 6-month and annual memberships are paid upfront and are not refundable. Check out the special pricing below:
- Community for those who love what we do, but don't need a workspace. $80/month with 6-month pre-pay, $75/month with annual pre-pay ($95/month-to-month).
- Coworking Flex 4 for those that want flexibility to use their workspace when they want, AND a community of #womendoingcoolstuff. Use the workspace any four times per month (and roll over unused days to the next month when you join a six-month membership). $165/month with 6-month membership, $155/month with annual pre-pay ($195 month-to-month).
- Coworking Flex 8 for those that want flexibility to use their workspace when they want, AND a community of #womendoingcoolstuff. Use the workspace any eight times per month (and roll over unused days to the next month when you join a six-month or annual membership). $250/month with 6-month membership, $235/month with annual pre-pay ($295 month-to-month).
- Unlimited for those who want it all. Use our workspace whenever you'd like (Mon-Fri 8:30 am-6:00 pm) and have a fabulous community. $335/month with 6-month membership, $315/month with annual pre-pay ($395 month-to-month).

- Does The Hivery offer any special discounts to nonprofits?
- Of course! Our mission is to unleash the unique potential of every woman and we want to lift up members of our community that are dedicated to making the change we want to see in the world. Members that work for a 501(c)(3) non-profit, enjoy 20% our monthly membership. Email membership@thehivery.com a copy of your organization's IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity letter and a signed letter of employment from your nonprofit to take advantage of this.
- Do you offer a discount on space rental for nonprofits?
- Check out our venue rental packages and pricing here. Non-profits enjoy the member rate. Email events@thehivery.com to learn more about special pricing opportunities for nonprofits.
- How do I update my email notifications from The Hivery Community Board?
- You can update your email notifications in the Online Member Area. Select "My Account" > "Notifications" and choose how often you want to receive emails about conversations happening on The Hivery Community Board.
Room Bookings
- How many hours can I use per day?
- Members have a daily conference room limit of 2 hours. The Hivery is a space of mutual respect for all members, so we ask members to be considerate of our shared space, and kindly only use the time you need. Bookings may be placed in different rooms as long as the total amount of reservation time is limited to two hours per day.
- How many hours can I use per month?
- It depends on your membership! Check out the details below. Please note that a new bundle of hours are added to your account each month and hours don’t roll over with a 6-month prepaid plan.
- Community Membership: Purchase a Day Pass and get access to room bookings! Please note that a room rental fee of $35/hour (The Nest + The Salon) or $45/hour (The Focus Lounge + The inspiration Lounge) will be charged to your account.
- Coworking Flex 4 Membership: 4 hours of Room Bookings.
- Coworking Flex 8 Membership: 8 hours of Room Bookings.
- Unlimited Membership: 20 hours of Room Bookings.
- How can I check my room bookings credit?
- You can see your usage details within the “My Account” area in the Online Members Area. When you select “Plans & Benefits,” you’ll see your account Day Passes and Meeting Room Credit under the Benefits section.
- Can I use two hours in one room and then move to another room?
- We wish we could say yes! Out of respect for your fellow members, all members can use the conference rooms for two hours per day total. Looking for another space to meet? Try our sunny deck or rent the Empowerment Studio! Learn more here.
Questions about Account Charges
- What is this Last Month Fee on my new plan invoice?
- At the time of sign up, you will be charged a prorated first month and your last month. We keep this fee on your account and will apply it to your last month of membership. If you decide to upgrade or downgrade your membership plan, we will credit your last month’s payment and start you on your new plan on the 1st of the following month. You will be charged for your 1st month plus your last month at time of membership change.
- What are the meeting room charges I’m seeing on my invoice?
- Coworking memberships come with meeting room credit (4 hours/month for Flex 4 hours/month for Flex 8, and 20 hours/month for Unlimited). If your conference room use exceeds these hours, then a room rental fee of $35/hour (The Nest + The Salon) or $45/hour (The Focus Lounge + The inspiration Lounge) will be charged to your account. Please cancel your booking if you no longer need the room so that other members can have access to the booking calendar and your conference room time is not affected. You can manage this and any other of your bookings from The Room Bookings Calendar.
Day Passes
- How do I buy a day pass?
- You can always purchase a day pass for yourself of a guest in the Members Online Area. Day passes are $40. Under the “For Members” Menu, select the “Get a Day Pass” button. Please purchase your day passes prior to coming to the Hivery. Your day pass will automatically be applied next time you login at The Hivery.
- Can I bring a friend to The Hivery to work for the day?
- Yes, we love when members invite their friends to cowork at The Hivery! If you are purchasing a day pass for a guest, please purchase a day pass online in advance here and then be sure to check-in your guest with the Concierge at the front desk so we can get your guest set-up with an all-day wifi code and apply the visit to your account. Please note that you are responsible for your guest and must be present while your guest is working in the space.
- Your guests can also buy their own day pass at the front desk for $50/day or get a pack of three day passes for $99.
- How do I check how many day passes I have in my account?
- You can see your usage details within the “My Account” area in the Online Members Area. When you select “Plans & Benefits,” you’ll see your account Day Passes and Meeting Room Credit under the Benefits section.
- Do my day passes expire?
- Day Passes purchased online via “Get A Pass” are valid for use within 6-months and are valid with active membership. If you are a Coworking Flex 4 or Flex 8 Member (monthly), your day passes expire each month and do not rollover. If you are a 6-month or annual prepaid Coworking Flex 4 or Flex 8 Member, your monthly day passes roll over and can be used anytime within your 6-month or annual contract.
Our Guest Policy
- Can I bring some friends to The Hivery for a meeting?
- We’re all about community! You’re very welcome to bring in guests free of charge for the duration of your meeting room rental reservation, within the capacity of the room that you’ve reserved. Guests joining you for a meeting get a 2-hour wifi pass. All visitors must sign in with the front desk even if they have been onsite before. If your guest is joining you for the day, you are welcome to purchase day passes for your guests to work alongside you at The Hivery. Day passes are $40/day and can be purchased on your account here. Please check-in your guest with the Community Manager at the front desk so we can get your guest set-up with an all-day wifi code.
- Your guests can also buy their own day pass at the front desk for $50/day or get a pack of three day passes for $99.
- How do my guests get wifi when they visit?
- When your guest signs in at the front desk, you or they can ask the Community Manager for a 2-hour wifi pass. The pass is good for one-time use and has handy instructions on it.
- Can I have my guest stay all day?
- Definitely! Guests joining you for a meeting in a conference room will get a 2-hour wifi pass when they check in at the front desk. You are welcome to purchase day passes for your guests (outside of meeting room rental) to work alongside you at The Hivery. Day passes are $40/day and can be purchased on your account here. Please check-in all guests with the Community Manager at the front desk so we can get your guest set-up with a wifi code.

- Can I host a large meeting or event at The Hivery?
- Yes, we love sharing the magic of our space for special events, gatherings and meetings! The Hivery offers a beautiful space that caters to all kinds of experiences. Event Refunds
- How do I cancel my event ticket for a free member event?
- As all of our events have limited seating, we often have a wait list. Should your plans change and you can no longer attend, please email events@thehivery.com at your earliest convenience. If you can no longer make it to an event or workshop, please let us know at least three days before the scheduled event date. Thank you for helping us plan accordingly
- Are paid events and workshops refundable?
- We know that life happens and things change. If you can no longer make it to an event, please email us to let us know at events@thehivery.com so we can plan accordingly. We will gladly offer you account credit for the ticket price when requested in writing at least three days before the event. Please note that no refunds will be given on event cancellations.
- If you can no longer make it to a multi-part course or workshop series, please email us to let us know at events@thehivery.com so we can plan accordingly. We will gladly offer you a full refund when requested in writing at least 30 days days prior to the workshop. For cancellations made with less than 30 days notice, we are able to offer an account credit so please plan accordingly. We can't offer makeup classes or private teaching time for days missed, but we will provide all materials for self study (if applicable).
General Billing Questions
- How do I update my credit card?
- We require current credit card information to be on file to process payment and invoices are due upon receipt. To update your credit card, visit the “My Account” area in the Online Members Area. When you select “Billing” you’ll see your Credit/Debit Card Payments. You can update or change your credit card information here.
- Can I use a checking account instead of a credit card?
- At this time, we require a credit card to be on file for payment.
Making Changes to my Membership
- How do I upgrade my membership?
- You can make changes to your current plan by emailing us at membership@thehivery.com. Please note that account changes on monthly memberships will not take effect until the 1st of the following month. If you decide to upgrade or downgrade your membership plan, we will credit your last month’s payment and start you on your new plan on the 1st of the following month. You will be charged for your 1st month plus your last month at time of membership change. If you want to renew your 6-month prepaid account or join a new plan type, please email us at membership@thehivery.com.
- Can I change my membership type?
- Of course! You can make changes to your current plan by emailing us at membership@thehivery.com. Please note that account changes on monthly memberships will not take effect until the 1st of the following month. See above for billing details.
- How do I cancel my membership?
- We're sad to see you go, but we understand that moving, traveling, and life happens! If you have a monthly membership, please email your cancellation request in writing tot membership@thehivery.com. Please note that all monthly plans have a 30 day cancellation policy and membership accounts are billed on the 1st of the month. Please note that monthly memberships auto-renew and 6-month prepaid memberships are not refundable.
Membership Invoicing
- How does invoicing work for my monthly membership?
- Monthly memberships with current credit card payment on file are automatically charged on the 1st of each month and do not receive any notices. Your first month is prorated, based on the day of the month you join. We require current credit card information is to be on file to process payment and invoices are due upon receipt. If there are issues with your payment, we’ll send you a reminder via email and call you to verify your current payment information.
- How does invoicing work for my 6-month prepaid membership?
- Your account will be billed the full amount upon activation.
- 6-Month Prepaid Community at $485
- 6-Month Prepaid Coworking Flex 4 at $995
- 6-Month Prepaid Coworking Flex 8 at $1505
- 6-Month Prepaid Unlimited at $2015
- After this initial payment, 6-month prepaid memberships do not auto renew. We’ll send you a friendly email reminder 7-10 days before your contract expires asking if you would like to renew. Don’t worry, your card will not be automatically charged for another 6-month contract.
- Can I pause my 6-month prepaid membership if I’m traveling or not using it?
- We wish we could say yes! We’re unable to pause your membership as prepaid Memberships are designed for continuous use.
General Information
- What are The Hivery's hours?
- The Hivery is open Monday - Friday from 8:30am-6:00pm. Unfortunately, we are not open on weekends.
- Is The Hivery closed on holidays?
- Yes, The Hivery observes federal holidays (and a few other days too!). Please see the below list of confirmed 2019 closures and stay tuned here about any updates to our closure schedule.
- New Year's Day (Tuesday, January 1), Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday, January 21), President's Day (Monday, February 18), Memorial Day (Monday, May 27), Independence Day Closure (Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5), Labor Day (Monday, September 2), Indigenous Peoples Day (Monday, October 14), Veterans Day (Monday, November 11), Thanksgiving Closure (Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29), and Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25)
- Are dogs allowed at The Hivery?

Unfortunately, our lease does not allow our furry friends to enter the building. Of course, service animals are an exception. Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person's disability.

The dog must be trained to take a specific action when needed to assist the person with a disability. For example, a person with diabetes may have a dog that is trained to alert him when his blood sugar reaches high or low levels. A person with depression may have a dog that is trained to remind her to take her medication. Or, a person who has epilepsy may have a dog that is trained to detect the onset of a seizure and then help the person remain safe during the seizure.

- Are emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals considered service animals under the ADA?
- Unfortunately, not. These terms are used to describe animals that provide comfort just by being with a person. Because they have not been trained to perform a specific job or task, they do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. California law allows persons with disabilities to bring trained service dogs and psychiatric service dogs, but not emotional support animals, to all public places.
